About O. G. Blake Owens
From the city that’s renown for giving the world the gift of music, ranging from blues, jazz, funk and most recently hip-hop, today Houston born, New Orleans bred artist, O.G Blake Owens, is ushering in a new sound that marries the best of old and new-school hip-hop, leaving listeners riding high on the wave of lyrical greatness.
Owning the underground scene as an artist and concert promoter, Owens produced a highly successful hip-hop show “NOMW- Next Up” at the House of Blues which ran for three consecutive years. "Next Up" showcased the talent of up and coming artists, giving them a platform to perform for talent buyers, promoters, and the general public. With this experience, Blake was inspired to deliver a new sound, "Balcony Music."
Describing "Balcony Music" he says, “it is influenced by my life, and my experiences living in the French Quarter.” His lifestyle is captured in the ”Riding High” music video which shows his “Get Up-n-Ride” social bike club cruising through the Crescent City as he flows over the classic Faze-O song of the same title. Since the release of “Balcony Music,” critics and followers are referring to the mixtape as “epic, feel good music.” The originals are available for purchase at iTunes, Tidal, Google Play, and more.
As an artist who values his fans, Blake invites you to be the first to learn about new music, videos, and events. Join the wave, subscribe to the website and gain access to behind the scene views of The Balcony Music Movement.
